Just when you think you know what's happening...
I was SO confident I knew where this was going incredibly early on. I never make annotations but I was making them ALL OVER THE PLACE. I devoured this book and found out I fell for everything hook, line, and sinker - and felt as if I missed the neon signs that told me I was wrong.Never Lie follows Tricia and Ethan, a newly married couple who are house hunting and become trapped when a blizzard hits. The house they get stuck in? It belonged to Dr Adrienne Hale, a psychiatrist who went missing three years prior. While stuck in the house, Tricia and Ethan uncover many secrets - secrets no one ever expected to see the light of day.I can't get over this. The twists in the last 20% just knocked me back. I should have seen it coming, but Freida so masterfully laid out false breadcrumbs and I followed them to a T. Each "clue" felt like I was closer to figuring out the truth myself, and yet I couldn't have been farther from the truth. Its so hard to further review this without spoilers, so just do yourself a favor and give it a read - you'll hopefully enjoy the ride!

Two Can Keep a Secret 🤫
(4.5 ⭐️)This was a first by this author for me and it will absolutely not be the last. Things progressed quickly and you honestly stay guessing about possible twists until the very last page, or at least I did. Every time I thought I might have it figured out, I was hit with a little bit of information that had me shook about what was to come. I literally was guessing until the end and was wrong about all but one of my guesses, and I ain’t even mad at that. It’s that well done! I found myself laying my kindle down just to stare at my imaginary audience and exclaim about how I couldn’t believe what was happening. The progress of the story flows so well, it’s like as soon as you get those first chapters in (which are written on the shorter side) you’re hooked and not wanting it to end. I held off reading the last 20% just because I didn’t want it to end! Freida has herself a new fan and I simply cannot recommend this book enough for fans of psychological thrillers/mysteries.

5 STAR!!!
Newlyweds Tricia and Ethan think they’ve found the perfect remote estate—once owned by the enigmatic Dr. Adrienne Hale, who vanished four years ago. But when a fierce snowstorm traps them inside, Tricia stumbles upon secret audio tapes of Dr. Hale’s patient sessions. As she listens deeper into the night, startling revelations about Dr. Hale’s disappearance unravel. Each new tape adds another shocking clue—until the final recording unveils the horrifying truth.I can’t recall the last time a thriller gripped me this hard. Never Lie had me devouring pages long past bedtime, determined to find out what really happened in that hidden mansion. At first, I thought I had the plot all figured out and worried it might be too predictable. But then—boom!—the final twist landed like a bombshell, turning my assumptions on their head. I finished the book in just two days (my fastest read ever!), and I’m officially adding Freida McFadden to my must-read author list. This is my first perfect 5-star rating, and it’s well earned. If you love twisty psychological thrillers that refuse to let you go—even when you think you’re onto the solution—Never Lie delivers. It’s a perfect pick for those wanting a suspenseful read that ramps up the tension with every chapter. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of shifting theories and a jaw-dropping payoff at the end.

I really enjoyed this book. As an avid reader, I thought I knew who did what. However, I was so wrong! Lol! I was NOT expecting the plot twist. Looking forward to reading more of Freida McFadden's books!

Chilling and eerie…
This book was better than I expected it to be. I thought I had it all figured out but i’ll admit, the twists got me. Freida has slowly started to get better at tricking me when i read her older books instead of newer ones. This is probably one of my favorites besides The Boyfriend. I thought surely this book was too predictable, but i am so glad i was wrong!!

A Tight Little Thriller
This was my first book written by Freud's McFadden, but it won't be my last. I enjoyed the mystery that carried the story throughout the novel and loved the curve balls that were thrown in at the end. This story keeps you guessing and has quite a few surprises. It is well written in first person narrative. There are no long descriptive passages, and no red herringswhich makes it a quick and easy read. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
