NuTone 0696B000 Motor Assembly for QT100 and QT110 Series Fans by Nutone

The unit seems to be well built and sturdy but despite the product description (NuTone 0696B000 Motor Assembly for QT100 and QT110 Series Fans by Nutone) it cannot replace a QT-110 CA fan/motor assembly unit unless you replace the housing and re-do the duct connection, which is exactly what this item is supposed to allow you to avoid. I had to send it back. The third party seller did approve the refund and agreed to reimburse me for shipping costs, so I have no complaints about the seller. Probably an honest mistake, but make sure your fan is not a QT-110 CA before buying this model.

Appears well made and fits the Nu-tone QT fans perfectly. The original design of the product has the fan simply slid on the shaft with a small devise to keep it from sliding off but nothing adheres it to the shaft and after time the plastic on the fan wears and it spins freely on the shaft of the motor. This causes wobble and burns out the motor quicker. Try a few drops of super glue on the fan (before installing) where it slides on the shaft to keep it from spinning freely and this should help extend the life of the motor. I'm a 20 year of QT fans.

I replaced ceiling fans in two bathrooms that were pretty old and making a lot of noise. The first one is slightly quieter than the one it replaced, but the second one is much quieter. Not sure why, but I need to check the flapper valve on the first one to see if it is opening fully. That might account for the difference.

I was dreading having to replace the vent fan in our family bathroom and was grateful to find that I could keep the housing in place and just replace the fan and motor unit. It was a quick project.

Arrived day after I ordered it but when I opened the box there was no fan/squirrel cage. I needed a new fan blade because the one on the old fan motor would not budge trying to get it off the motor shaft. Description of motor specifically says it includes the fan!

I am so happy to be able to find a replacement that fits so that I have a fan without having to make a new hole in the ceiling.But it is loud.It works well but it is loud.

It was an easy job to accomplish - I was able to do it with very few skills. However, it is much louder than the original. I suspect I will be replacing it with a genuine Nutone in the not too distant future because of the noise.

The fan worked great for about twenty minutes. Stopped working. We came came home later this afternoon tried the switch and it worked again. We'll see how it works the next couple days.

I keep a spare motor fan , in case the on I have goes bad. It works and does the job.

The original motor lasted 15 years, before seizing. This replacement lasted 6 months and now it's getting hard to turn and very noisy, overheats and shuts off after 10 minutes of running.
