Received this in one day! It is clear crackle glass with a delicate lighted wire threaded inside, with a battery and on/off switch hidden in the botton. Sits flat. It is so very beautiful I will use it in so many ways especially at the holidays. In fact, because I can't decide where, my easy solution is to buy more! The price is right. I am very happy with this purchase and you too will be happy.

The ball globe gives off plenty of light for my bathroom and is very pretty. It is NOT like the picture. The picture portrays it as a golden color and it is CLEAR....as in some of the other reviews they have stated that. I knew this luckily, and I still like it.

The globe has a little weight to it, so it sits on the table well. The light that it gives off at night works well in my large living room. It has a lovely glow and it well worth the price.

I've only had mine a month and have only turned it on a few times (twice I completely forgot to turn it off - because it was not bright enough for me to notice it was on!). So YMMV, but I bought this based on the seller images looking very bright and clearly golden. However on receipt, the globe is more white light and pretty delicate/faint, even in the dark. I wanted a pretty bright light so this could operate like a table lamp, but obviously more for effect than for light to actively try to read by. Notice how for other customers, they are using *more than one* in a display. So, one lamp alone is basically a "nice to have" bit of sparkle, but not really a meaningful LIGHT.

I ordered several of these globes and made snowmen for Christmas gifts. The snowmen were a big hit and the best part was the beautiful warm fairy lights inside.

For Halloween, this was my crystal ball in the holiday decorations. For Christmas, this was part of a twinkling winter wonderland.
