Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury: 4 Complete Stories in 1 Volume! (I Can Read Level 2)

I LOVED these stories as much as my children did when they were very small. We still love to open these books and enjoy the memories. Of all the children's books I might have parted with, these could never leave my house! I bought this book to use as material in a preschool program. I find the stories are simple enough to be enjoyed by the youngest children, and offer something for those who comprehend a bit more. Each story presents an opportunity to discuss feelings, problems and how they were resolved, etc. Not to mention, they are simply endearing and wonderful to enjoy again and again. I never tire of them! I just ordered my second copy of this book from Amazon so I can abuse one at school, and have a copy for my home. It just doesn't matter that my children are now 18 and 13. We still giggle about these, and so will their children with grandma one day.

So pleased with this treasury. We borrowed all four Frog and Toad books from the library for our three year old and enjoyed them so much, we wanted our own copy for her. This big, thick, hardcover book is a pleasure to read... be warned, though, that your child will more easily be able to convince you to read "just one more!" THese stories are simple, charming,and witty - great for kids and the adults who read to them.

I love Frog and Toad. The characters are relatable, the stories are funny, and the illustrations are beautiful. The books are at the right difficulty level for a beginning reader to practice, but they're also amusing enough for parents to enjoy reading and rereading them with their kids. These are what kids' books should be.This particular tome is all four Frog and Toad books in a high-quality hardback book. Nothing is compromised, shrunk, or abridged here. This is a big, 256-page book containing everything from the original four books.I want to buy this for every kid I know.

Who doesn't love Frog and Toad? These sweet, simple tales of friendship and adventures resonate with the youngest of hearts, and reading them anew brings back such good memories of reading these tales with our own kids and now-grown grandkids. Now, our 3-year-old grandson likes choosing one special story from his own Frog and Toad treasury at bedtime. (And his mom appreciates that he knows the difference between each of them so he's not asking her to read the entire book every night!) Highly recommended!

Bought this for my 1st grade son to help with his reading. He absolutely loves it. We read a "book", which looks like a chapter in this storybook collection, every night. His reading independence has improved tremendously. The stories are written with early readers in mind and do a great job of incorporating common sight words with slightly more advanced words in context so that he can figure out the harder words on his own. The illustrations are great and keep his interest. The messaging overall of the stories are good hearted and promote morals and values. As a parent, I have enjoyed these books just as much. I love seeing the look on my sons face when he lights up with pride for reading the whole book/chapter to me all by himself.

The hardback I got is great quality. I still feel like individual books might be good too, but I can't even find "Frog and Toad are friends" anywhere anymore!

This book was perfect! Beautiful book, it’s a very nice size book, includes four different stories in the book both good for my 8yr old to read on her own and for myself to read to my 5yr old. Frog & Toad are a classic and I’ve always enjoyed their books as a kid myself. I’m very pleased with my purchase and I believe it was a great deal! Would have been a lot more expensive in Barnes and nobles that’s for sure!

This book is seriously the best. I’ve now bought it for every child in my life, including myself.

I love this book because it never fails to make me laugh out loud! The Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury is a sublime anthology of beautifully-illustrated short stories. Each tale takes less than five minutes to read, yet is funny, clever and poignant all at once. This book is perfect for absolutely anyone (of any age) who enjoys a well-crafted plot and warm-hearted characterisation. I recommend this book without hesitation! In my humble estimation, Arnold Lobel (the author) is a truly great author of fiction for children (like Roald Dahl, Julia Donaldson, AA Milne, etc.). Frog and Toad is a work of genius! So my advice for younger readers is: If you don't already own a copy, put it on your list for Santa. For adult readers: Don't miss out! Add it to your bucket list.

Great first read

I forgot how much I loved 'Frog & Toad' as a child & I'm quite pleased to have the complete works in one book to read to my son now.

It’s not surprising that Arnold Lobel was gay because the story reads a little like a gentle love story about an old couple. I love the pairing of these two very different characters and how they help each other. Highly recommend the entire frog and toad series.
